EcoStyle's Archimedes Screw Model demonstrates a historical method used for transferring water from a low-lying body of water into irrigation ditches.
The model consists of a screw (a helical surface surrounding a central cylindrical shaft) inside a hollow pipe. The screw is turned by a manual hand crank.
As the shaft turns, the bottom end scoops up water from the reservoir. This water is then pushed up the tube by the rotating helicoid until finally it pours out from the top of the tube and flows into the measuring cylinder.
500ml of water can be pumped in approximately 1½ minutes.
Please note that our minimum order quantity for this product is ten units.
