EcoStyle exhibiting at Newcastle Enviro Schools Day

On 23rd June Newcastle Enviro Schools held a conference on Climate Change and Sustainability at the Centre for Life in Newcastle. This included an Enviro Stalls village, with stalls from 38 organisations including EcoStyle.

The purpose of the day was to promote the council's approach to climate change & sustainable schools and to continue to change attitudes and behaviours regarding the environment. The event aimed to recognise the efforts of schools and pupil representatives and to involve schools in the council's approach to Climate Change and the priorities it has identified.

Attendees were encouraged to cascade information the rest of their school The Enviro Stalls village provided the opportunity for environmental organisations to promote their activities to the wider community within Newcastle.

EcoStyle director Simon Hall said: 'We were very pleased to have been invited to exhibit at the show. It was a great way for Newcastle schools to learn more about our renewable energy education activities and the pupils really enjoyed the day.'

Airtricity and Eco-Schools Global Wind Awards

Eco-Schools across Northern Ireland celebrate success at the inaugural Airtricity and Eco-Schools Global Wind Awards. Awards were presented to the ‘Eco-Committee of the Year’ and ‘Operation Energy Project of the Year’ with winners also receiving EcoStyle educational Renewable Energy Kits for the school.

EcoStyle director speaks at Nun Wood Wind Farm Inquiry

EcoStyle director Simon Hall spoke in favour of the proposed wind farm at Nun Wood in Central Bedfordshire at a public enquiry on 14 June 2013. The enquiry was held at Bedford Borough Council chambers, and was attended by representatives of RWE Npower (the wind farm developers), Bedford Borough Council, and a small group of anti-wind farm protesters.

EcoStyle at the Eco-Schools Show 2011

EcoStyle were pleased to exhibit at the Eco-Schools Show 2011 held at the Bolton Arena. The show is the single largest sustainable schools event in England, attracting almost 3000 attendees, and is unique in that it is focussed on a younger audience - primary and secondary school pupils.
